Join us for Go! Meeting on itinerant practices and dispersed museums
The Go ! Meeting on itinerant practices and dispersed museums, which we are organising with the MACBA (Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona), will be held in Barcelona from 13 to 16 March. A time to exchange and reflect on the tools that can allow arts education to free itself from the usual physical spaces.
Why Innovative Tools for Mobility in Arts Education?
Since its creation, the Foundation has financed and supported more than 200 projects in France and Spain as part of its Citizen Art axis. By supporting these projects, we have learned, among other things, the importance of creating resources and tools that go beyond the usual territories of arts education. In 2015, the Foundation decided to set up a call for projects “Innovative tools for mobility in arts education“, entitled in Spain: “Educación artística expandida”.
The forms of these tools are diverse: from educational kits, to museums and mobile theatres, mail art projects, applications and digital platforms, or kits and games. The Foundation has supported institutions and collectives that allow them to circulate to trigger artistic and educational processes aimed at all types of users and in different contexts.
By freeing themselves from the physical space of the cultural institution, which is more static, these projects want to move, be used, manipulated, appropriated. They can even, at times, escape the control of their creator.
Some of the projects that we have supported in the framework of our call, in France and Spain, will also participate in the “Go!” Meeting, such as Echelle inconnue, Soundcool, Ersilia/Le Bal or The Cross Border Project.
Discover the program of the event
The programmed activities, 100% free, will include workshops carried out by different artists and collectives, such as Laagencia, Luz Broto or Nicolas Floc’h, a conference and round tables with a more theoretical angle, with the participation of Ramón Parramon, María Acaso and Rufino Ferreras, among others; and a public and festive day during which various devices will be set up in Plaça del Àngels and in front of the museum.
At the same time, various measures will be set up in schools and spaces in the city of Barcelona. They will aim to deepen these practices.
Through these times of collective exchange and sharing, we hope to highlight a landscape of itinerant practices whose diversity we have discovered and continue to discover, and in which we deeply believe.
