Agroecological transition
Accessible food for all

We are delighted to announce the reopening of our “Feeding the Future” call for projects. Like the previous one, this call for projects is aimed at structures based in France, of general interest and eligible for sponsorship. We are looking for innovations on emerging issues, which are peripheral today, but structural in the future: from big data to the consideration of hidden costs, from artificial intelligence to collaborative logistics, etc. We use projects with a strong anchoring in the field in the seed phase, benefiting from a solid conceptual foundation and requiring testing to demonstrate their concepts.

We are looking for projects on emerging topics

Food, agriculture, livestock farming and fishing, like the rest of the world, are changing rapidly: food practices have never changed so much from one generation to the next, citizens’ demands for sustainable food accessible to all are intensifying, and the demand for information and transparency is increasing.
More importantly, new forms of market and non-market exchange are emerging, digital technology is transforming our lives. The forms of food and agriculture of tomorrow will be very different. The answers to tomorrow’s challenges are being prepared now.

This is why we are looking for projects dealing with these emerging issues, i.e. issues that are currently secondary or exploratory but which we can think will gain in importance and, in the long term, become structuring of our agriculture (including livestock and fishing) and our food. These are multiple issues. They range from the economic consideration of the hidden social and environmental costs of food, to data transparency, to collaborative logistic and economic models, the use of new ecological functions of life in agroecology, green chemistry, the bioeconomy and the circular economy, open source digital solutions in agriculture and food, etc.

This list is not exhaustive and only needs to be completed by the analyses proposed by the candidates. The foundation is open to all proposals for emerging issues as long as they are supported by a solid prospective analysis. In addition, the proposed projects must contribute to universal access to healthy food, respectful of people and ecosystems.

We are looking for innovative solutions

We are looking for projects that create new knowledge, services or products for the benefit of as many people as possible. We favor projects that aim to open up new avenues of solution to the problem tackled, possibly risky and/or breaking with the solutions usually developed. These innovations can be organizational, economic, technological or conceptual. They can draw their inspiration from the history of forgotten practices, or from creativity and new opportunities.

We are looking for projects in the seed phase, with a solid conceptual foundation and requiring field testing in their fields of activity and in a given territory to prove their concept. These projects must have a strong social impact. They range from prototyping to
action research. These projects seek a leverage effect by evaluating the impact of the proposed innovations, capitalizing on the experience with a view to disseminating its teachings, or adapting or reproducing it by other people and in other places.

This call for projects aims to open the horizon towards sustainable food systems, from seed to compost and in their environmental, economic, social, cultural and nutritional dimensions. Projects that are simultaneously located on several dimensions will be favoured.
