When art becomes a powerful driver of the just and ecological transition

In a world where the transition to a fairer and greener future is at the heart of concerns, we want to give a voice to the actors who are driving this change. With joy and delicacy, our reporter Léa Minod was able to capture on the spot the vibrant stories of these committed artists who use their talents to provoke reflection and inspire action, of these inhabitants who get involved and regain confidence, dignity and human warmth, of these associations that mobilize all over France. They are the voices of those who shape and experience the transition on a daily basis.

Through their moving testimonies, listeners are invited to discover how art can catalyze positive social and environmental change, creating more resilient and engaged communities. From urban neighborhoods to remote villages, each episode reveals the power of citizen art to revitalize spaces, creating centers of artistic expression and dialogue.

Rediscover seasons 1 & 2

For the past two seasons, the Voices of Citizen Art have been taking you to meet artists and discover projects that move society. That’s how citizen art starts. A door that the artist pushes open when he is not expected. A college, a nursing home, a medico-educational institute, a reinvested factory… where he exchanges with those who are rarely seen in cultural venues.

Support these inspiring initiatives by sharing with others

The podcast series offers much more than just listening. It is an invitation to join the citizen art and just transition movement that offers much-needed perspectives. Episode of 30/11/23: An eco-responsible stage at the Théâtre de l’Aquarium

At the Cartoucherie de Vincennes, near Paris, the company la vie courte runs the Théâtre de l’Aquarium. It recovered the stock of sets, costumes and accessories stored here since the 1970s. How can these elements be reinvested and revalued as much as possible? How can we reduce the environmental impact of creations? In addition to the resource centre (a member of the national network of artistic and cultural resource centres, the Ressac), the short life runs workshops to support the development of responsible manufacturing approaches in the construction workshop for the artistic and technical teams hosted here in residence. She also co-hosts and co-organizes Les Augures, professional meetings dedicated to ecoscenography. An approach that reflects the question that runs through the world of culture: how to create while fully investing in the issue of eco-responsibility?
