On December 12, the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation celebrated 10 years of actions in Spain. A decade marked by ambitious and innovative initiatives to promote a sustainable and united future. This anniversary was an opportunity to look back on the progress made, to celebrate the projects carried out and to reaffirm our vision for the years to come, driven by Sustainable Food and Citizen Art.

«

These 10 years mark an important milestone, inviting us to measure how far we have come and to dream of all that we can still build. These years have been made possible thanks to the people and projects we support and that make us grow. Together, we will continue to work towards a desirable future.

An anniversary to celebrate and thank

Established in Spain since 2014, the Daniel and Carasso Foundation pursues the same mission as in France: to contribute to innovative solutions that build a more sustainable and fairer future through citizen art and sustainable food. Over the years, the teams have supported and accompanied a wide variety of people and projects on the path of transition, stimulating hybridization between disciplines, citizen participation and joint learning.
The values of curiosity, originality, trust, high standards and joy that guide us were celebrated at an anniversary party on December 12. A unique and festive opportunity to thank all the people and organizations who have accompanied us throughout our journey.

Research, agroecology, food justice, meetings

Under Sustainable Food, we have promoted research and innovation with initiatives such as the Daniel Carasso Fellowship, whose award-winning postdoctoral researchers are part of the SABE network. We have also supported local food systems and citizen participation with initiatives such as Sustentta or the KmLand call for projects, but also agroecological projects, initiatives that promote greater democracy and food justice as well as the production and dissemination of knowledge. Like the Sustainable Food Meetings organized every 2 years in France, the team in Spain launched in 2024 Uno con cinco, an event during which experts and key players in the agricultural and food sector meet to address the challenges of a fairer and more ecological system.

«

Sustainable food is not just a goal, it is a path that requires collaboration, knowledge and action from multiple perspectives. Our work over the past decade has shown that when networks are created and local solutions are articulated, systemic change is possible.

School, cultural democracy, science, citizen artists

The Foundation’s approach in Spain is based on four themes, including the promotion of artistic practices in schools through the PLANEA Network, as well as collaboration between art, science and society.

In the field of democracy and cultural mediation, we have supported projects selected under the Alliances for Cultural Democracy call and strategic initiatives such as Concomitants or the Objet direct scholarships for cultural mediators. Finally, we support citizen artists who generate new perspectives and promote social change.

«

Citizen art has the capacity to transform realities, because it connects people, raises awareness and encourages them to act. In these ten years, we have seen how artistic projects can open up new avenues to imagine and build a fairer future.

A desirable future embodied by a new venue in Madrid: Infinito Delicias

The Foundation is actively preparing for the opening to the public in 2025 of Infinito Delicias, a space for citizen experimentation of more than 2,700 square meters in Madrid’s Delicias neighborhood, which will function as a laboratory for living, working, learning and experimenting. It will be the epicentre of an ecosystem in which citizens, businesses and foundations can collaborate and invent the future of sustainable food, culture and the economy with a positive impact.

«

The name of the project comes from the idea of an infinite place, with multiple possibilities. It’s a space that we can’t completely define and that is open to the unexpected, to everything that can arise from the neighbourhood, from the city, from the organisations with which we are going to collaborate.
