We are delighted to announce our recent membership of the European Foundation Centre (EFC), the network that promotes, defends and networks European philanthropy. This new participation echoes the commitment we have been making to the world of Philanthropy for several years, both in France and Spain, but also in Europe and internationally.

Our commitments in the field of philanthropy

Convinced of the importance of working collectively to maximize our impact, we strive to be a committed and responsible player in the world of Philanthropy: both through our participation in networks of Foundations, by providing structural support to the sector’s representative bodies, or by funding research on philanthropy.

Among the networks we support are the French Centre for Funds and Foundations (CFF), Admical, the Spanish Association of Foundations (AEF) and now the European Centre of Foundations (CEF). We are also members of thematic networks related to our two axes, Sustainable Food and Citizen Art, such as the European Foundations for Sustainable Agriculture and Food (EFSAF) working group, within the CEF, or the Global Alliance for the Future of Food , which brings together some twenty international foundations.

We believe that bringing together actors who are committed to the general interest over the long term can make it possible to optimise good practices, develop joint projects, maximise our national or international impact, but also promote the private and family philanthropy sector.

The choice of the CFE

The European Foundation Centre (EFC), founded in 1989, is an international association of foundations and corporate sponsors with 231 members. The European Foundation Centre is both a members’ association and an information centre. It is home to the Donors and Foundations Networks in Europe (DAFNE).

We will always remain very active in the French and Spanish networks of philanthropy, but it was important for us to be part of a larger network that would allow us to access new forms of philanthropy and thus enrich our practices. We also want to reflect with our European partners on the philanthropy of tomorrow in a world in perpetual movement where the foundations of democracy are sometimes threatened

Our participation in the 2019 General Assembly of the association

The Fondation de France, which houses us, will host the General Assembly of the European Centre of Foundations “Liberty, Equality, Fraternity!” from 21 to 24 May, with one day dedicated to freedom, another to equality and the third to fraternity / philanthropy. On the program: conferences, project visits, networking…

In this context, we will organize visits to projects supported by our Foundation, such as the Philharmonie and in particular the DEMOS program, through our Citizen Art axis, but also the Urban Peasant, Baluchon and the New Centenary, through our Sustainable Food axis.
