Sustainable food
The City of Grande-Synthe is implementing a series of initiatives as part of the efforts led by the Maison de l’Alimentation Durable et de l’Écologie populaire (MADE) and the action plan for sustainable agriculture and food (AAD).
These initiatives aim to support local agricultural production that respects biodiversity and natural resources and meets the standards of organic farming. They are also part of a broader approach to environmental justice, understood as the right of every person to live in a healthy environment and to have access to sustainable, high-quality, and health-promoting food.
The project aims to empower residents by encouraging their involvement in concrete, collective initiatives. By mobilizing a diverse range of stakeholders (public, private, nonprofit, and citizens) and aligning them with MADE’s missions, the City intends to build a local momentum centered on agroecological and social transition.
