Socially engaged art
Roya Open Sources is a collaborative project involving artists, residents, organizations, and researchers in the Roya Valley, a mountainous region bordering Italy. In 2020, the valley was hit by Storm Alex, which caused extensive damage and threatened residents’ access to water.
This project therefore aims to bring stakeholders together to build collective capacity, empowering residents to engage in water management alongside institutions. The initiative focuses on citizen mobilization, the dissemination of scientific knowledge, and artistic creation.
