UNESCO Chair in World Food

Since 2011, the UNESCO Chair in Food Systems, hosted by Montpellier SupAgro and jointly supervised by CIRAD, has been organizing science-society dialogue on sustainable food systems (by breaking down barriers between different fields of knowledge and public in
), through three types of activities:
– training, particularly the courses offered in the Specialized Master’s program in Innovations and Policies for Sustainable Food Systems and the development of continuing education modules for professionals;
– action research, notably on urban food systems and—to be developed—on issues of precariousness and justice in food systems;
– the dissemination of knowledge to a broad audience through various activities (conferences, website, videos, publications) and the publication of a book on a holistic approach to food, laying the groundwork for a future
resource center on sustainable food.
