DESCRIPTION

SEA It is a platform that aims to promote relevant actions of change in contemporary cultural institutions, understanding cultural mediation as the backbone of these transformations. Through three interconnected working nodes, MAR is launching a programme of research residencies (Notar), a mediation network (Alzar) and a digital archive (Caja) which, together, will contribute to blurring the traditional boundaries between cultural institutions and civil society, understanding that cultural mediation can bring about a paradigm shift that effectively involves all people in cultural life and in the sphere Public.

This call is part of the first node of the MAR platform, called Notar, support for research residencies, which aims to produce a set of initiatives for collective reflection, research and archiving around experiences (present and past) of critical pedagogy, experimental mediation and alternative institutionality.

In dialogue with the other two nodes of MAR (Alzar and Caja), Notary contributes to rethinking cultural organizations, their edges/limits and beyond, working especially on the situated links that are established in the midst of a radically new epochal context, crossed by contemporary discomforts and urgent interpellations of transfeminist, ecological and decolonial activists.

Three three-month research residencies are announced, within the framework of the MAR platform, aimed at individual or collective research, from September to November 2024 with the aim of articulating a research community from which new knowledge and critical approaches can be produced, shared and made visible, at the discursive and methodological level.

The call will be open until 11:59 p.m. (Spain time – UTC/GMT + 1 hour) on January 28, 2024.
