Description
Sustentta is a programme promoted by the Daniel and Nina Carasso
Foundation in collaboration with Red2Red that aims to provide agroecological cooperatives with a roadmap to guide their transition towards increasingly sustainable production, processing, marketing and management practices.
Aimed at all agri-food cooperatives in Spain that want to move towards sustainable food and show commitment and leadership to promote these changes in their productive sectors, in the territory and in society, it was born in a context in which European public policies give greater prominence to the transition towards more sustainable food systems. this being one of the key aspects promoted by the European Green Deal and, specifically, the Farm to Fork Strategy.
Among the agents of local change that the Foundation has highlighted to promote
this transition are agri-food cooperatives. For this reason, it is considered interesting to initiate a process of collaboration and joint work between the Foundation and a selection of cooperatives from anywhere in Spain, which will allow the transition to more sustainable production systems
