The Daniel and Nina Caraso Foundation deepens its desire to contribute to the strengthening of the artistic fabric through the ‘Art to come’ grant and residency programme. A proposal that responds to the great interest generated by this second edition of the call for the ‘Art to come’ grant program, to which a total of 547 applications were submitted from various artistic disciplines that carry out their activity throughout the territory of the Spanish State. El equipo de la Fundación se complace en poder anunciar los 8 proyectos seleccionados para formar parte del programa de esta edición 2026/27:

  • Carlos Monleón’s water wounds
  • SOLFEGGIO by Fito Conesa
  • Independent collection by Juf (Leto Ybarra and Beatriz Ortega Botas)
  • Turtledove Valencia, I think of you with my hands by Lara Brown
  • Minus one film by Mar Reykjavik
  • The Vibrating of the Possible by Massimiliano Casu
  • Fresco as a meeting of Noa Castro Lema, Lara Castro Lema, Cristóbal García-Belmont, Adi Blaustein Rejto and Rahel Goetsch
  • Les Güelgues by Sara García

The main objective of the ‘Art to Come’ grant programme is to support and care for artistic processes, paying special attention to their different phases and the contexts and communities in which they are developed. A program that seeks to generate spaces for dialogue based on initial intuitions, enriching research and critical reflection while inviting experimentation.

All the selected projects show us the capacity of artistic practice to broaden the collective imagination and they do so from fields such as listening and care; critical ecologies as a form of healing, repair, and generation of new narratives; the body as an archive and the sound tradition and the senses as devices to reimagine memory. In short, projects that activate memories and territorial languages through hybrid devices and that invite us to reflect in a present way.

Each of these projects will receive financial aid of between 20,000 (for individual artists) and 25,000 euros (for collectives), while at the same time they will enjoy a process of accompaniment that will facilitate the development of the proposals and the creation of links between different agents.

Selected projects:

Water
Wounds
Carlos Monleón
Wounds of Water is a choral work that embodies a hydropoetics of memory with which to give voice to past territorial conflicts and future hydrological challenges from the present of bodies of water such as dams, rivers and aquifers.

SOLFEGGIO
Fito Conesa
This proposal is an investigation into the role of music in the accompaniment of death processes and palliative care. From musicology, art and neuroscience, he explores how sound and vibration affect the body and perception beyond listening.

Independent
collection
Juf (Leto Ybarra and Beatriz Ortega Botas)
Juf will test what an independent space can bring uniquely to an art collection. To this end, he proposes an independent, generative and itinerant collection, with a promiscuity of styles, periods, artifacts and forms.

Turtledove Valencia, I think of you with my hands
Lara Brown
This work is a tribute to the dancer Carmen Tórtola Valencia, to her partner Àngels Magret-Vila, and to all the stories and artistic practices that we want to find when we look for references that reaffirm us in our present and in the part of History that we have to live, and give us coordinates to remain in it.

Minus one film
Sea Reykjavik
Minus One Film is a cinematographic process that explores singing, translation and performativity as forms of collective rewriting of the popular, generating situations where voices and bodies reinterpret songs to inscribe singularity and their own repertoire.

The vibrating of the possible
Massimiliano Casu
This is an itinerant community creation project. In times of disenchantment, it explores the possibility of defibrillating our ability to imagine and construct other configurations of the world through magic and sound.

Fresh as a meeting
Noa Castro Lema, Lara Castro Lema, Cristóbal García-Belmont, Adi Blaustein Rejto and Rahe Goetsch
Fresco as a meeting seeks to open the opportunity for the neighborhood and the artistic community to learn the fresco technique as a unique tool for community formation, the creation of spaces and critical learning.

Les Güelgues
Sara García
Les Güelgues is an exercise in intertwining, sheltering and healing through the senses: intake, touch and smell. The proposal explores the poetic sensibilities and ecopolitical gestures involved in the act of eating and sharing, from a multispecies perspective.
