Socially engaged art
The international architecture and design festival Concéntrico, held every year in Logroño, presented in 2022 the project 100 chairs and 3 urban salons, developed together with Izaskun Chinchilla Architects. The initiative installed three open meeting spaces and distributed one hundred municipal folding chairs designed with the participation of citizens to promote new collective uses of the street. Urban salons were conceived as places of conversation, rest and shared care, without obligation to consume. The mobile furniture made it possible to reorganize the space according to the needs of those who inhabit it and opened a practical reflection on how to make cities more accessible and habitable. The project is part of the Citizen Art axis, from which the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation promotes initiatives that promote cultural participation and strengthen the link between art and public space.
