In this rural region in the interior of Cantabria, the Valles Pasiegos Local Action Group It develops initiatives to strengthen the presence of agri-food products from the territory in restaurants and local consumption. The project seeks to take advantage of local production, especially artisanal and small-scale production, to consolidate an agri-food circuit that Connect producers, processors and local communities. The initiative is developed within the framework of the Terralimenta programme, promoted by the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation in collaboration with Red2Red, which accompanies local action groups in the transition towards more sustainable territorialised food systems. Through participatory processes, sectoral meetings and local development strategies, the project promotes cooperation between actors in the food chain, encourages short marketing channels and reinforces the role of the agri-food sector as a driver of rural development. This collaboration is part of the Foundation’s Sustainable Food axis.
