Citizen Innovation Laboratory

Project that seeks to strengthen networks and alliances that allow citizens to actively participate in social transformation. Colaboratorio IC promotes shared tools, working groups and prototypes aimed at responding to social and environmental challenges. The initiative arises from the meeting What if we get entangled? held at the end of April 2020, in the midst of confinement due to COVID-19, within the framework of the Brake the Curve project, where more than 150 agents (citizen laboratories, researchers, mediators, activists and public officials) reflected on how to organise and sustain citizen innovation beyond moments of crisis. Based on this process, three lines of work are promoted: developing a map of actors and an exchange platform based on the quadruple helix model – university, public sector, economic sector and citizenship; activating spaces for cooperation between agents; and to develop three prototypes aimed at generating solutions with social and environmental impact. Within the framework of the Citizen Art axis, the initiative reinforces the role of culture as a meeting space between knowledge, participation and collective action.
