Sustainable food
Project that promotes the transition to more sustainable food systems in the municipalities of Carreño, Gozón, Corvera and Llanera, in central Asturias. It is part of Terralimenta, a programme promoted by the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation in collaboration with Red2Red that accompanies Local Action Groups (LAGs) in the analysis of their territories and in the design of initiatives that connect food production, processing, marketing and consumption. Within this framework, the Association for the Integrated Development of the Peri-urban Centre of Asturias (ADICAP) participates together with eleven other LAGs in Spain in a process of training, technical advice and exchange between territories. The programme reinforces the capacity of these entities to promote sustainable food through rural development. The work includes the identification of agents of the local food system and the definition of lines of action to strengthen the territory’s value chains.
