Socially engaged art
The project Community Safeguarding Walks of the fishing village of Sancti Petri promotes the recovery of the intangible memory of this enclave of Chiclana dismantled in the 70s. The initiative articulates participatory meetings and living arts laboratories to bring together people from the community of origin and their descendants and activate stories, knowledge and experiences that have remained silenced. The process culminates in the creation of a guided walk through the old village, led by members of the community and documented using virtual geolocation. The ecofeminist approach of the project pays special attention to the contributions of women who inhabited the village, exploring how their roles and practices sustained interdependent relationships with the territory and community life.
