Socially engaged art
Eencuentro de Teatros del Canal that explores in Madrid the relationships between performing arts, science and technology. With documented continuity between at least 2022 and 2024, Its programme combines shows, installations, exhibitions, workshops and round tables open to the public. Among the activities supported by the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation in its Citizen Art axis are the Art, Science and Technology: From Creation to Exhibition, in 2022; the tables Of Flow and the (In)organic in Hybridized Spaces and Extended Perception: The Hacking of Systems, as well as a workshop for the production of an interactive installation, in 2023; and in 2024 the tables The New Freak Show, Symbiosis with Machines, The Chimera at the Intersection of ACTS, Mutant Bodies and Transhumanism and New narratives, art and science in the face of climate change. In 2023, the third edition of Canal Connect brought together five shows and 23 installations; in 2024, the fourth it added virtual reality theater, immersive installation and a central exhibition of digital art.
