Sustainable food
Project promoted by the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation to address one of the most persistent gaps in the urban food system: the difficulty many people face in accessing healthy and sustainable food. The initiative originated at La Mesa, a social laboratory that brought together community agents, social organizations and professionals in the sector to identify real barriers in accessing nutritious diets and design collaborative responses. The focus of FoodLinks is on activating health promoters within neighborhoods and improving coordination between local distribution networks and social services, with special attention to households in precarious situations, where the availability, affordability and quality of food directly influence people’s health.
