Guadalhorce Valley Rural Development Group

Non-profit organisation created in 1996 to promote the territorial development of this region of Malaga. Throughout its career, it has managed different European rural development programmes (Proder, Leader or EAFRD) and has promoted initiatives focused on the economic, social and cultural revitalisation of the territory, environmental awareness, cooperation between local actors and transparency in public management. The organization brings together more than 500 people and partner entities, including town councils, cooperatives, associations, companies, unions and citizens of the valley. Within the framework of this trajectory, the group participates in Terralimenta, a program promoted by the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation in collaboration with Red2Red that accompanies Local Action Groups in the design of strategies to promote territorialized agri-food systems. Through this process, work is being done to identify actors in the food chain, to strengthen cooperation networks and to define a roadmap that connects production, distribution and local consumption in the Guadalhorce Valley.
