Sustainable food
The project Improvement of local organic food in the province of Granada promotes an operational and environmental transformation in the organic food distribution and transformation system of Churriana de la Vega and its surroundings. This initiative, supported by the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation, seeks to strengthen the efficiency of the Valle y Vega S.Coop.And. cooperative and expand its capacity to bring organic products to more homes in the province. To achieve this, it articulates four lines of action: the creation of an organic canned food and beverage agribusiness that provides added value to local production; the implementation of a pilot system of returnable packaging to reduce waste and costs; the technological integration of sales channels under a single management system; and the measurement of the carbon footprint in order to establish a basis that allows it to be reduced through optimized routes and more efficient vehicles.
