Socially engaged art
A space for collaborative creation and research that uses audiovisuals to work with communities and address social realities from artistic practice, the LAAV_ was born in the Department of Education and Cultural Action of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Castilla y León (Musac). Her work articulates research, creation and mediation to generate shared knowledge and rethink the representation of people and social groups. The Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation supported a decisive stage of its consolidation between 2015 and 2019, within the framework of Componer Saberes. In those years, the laboratory launched a collaboration between the museum and the University of León in 2016 and developed projects such as Puta Mina, Teleclub, Libertad, Hostal España and La Rara Troupe. After this phase, the LAAV_ has maintained its activity with new calls, projects and lines of work.
