The canteens of Pamplona’s municipal nursery schools apply the Hemengoak-De Aquí menus, a model that introduces organic, seasonal and local foods into the daily diet of children from 0 to 3 years old. The project adapts the menus to Navarre’s agricultural production and organises direct purchases from local producers, with the aim of improving food quality and strengthening the agricultural fabric of the territory. The initiative has been developed since 2016 with the participation of the Pamplona City Council, the autonomous body of Nursery Schools and INTIA, which coordinates the implementation in the kitchens. It includes redesign of menus, training for professionals and work with families. The Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation supports its consolidation within the framework of its Sustainable Food axis.
