Peix de Llotja Quality Mark

The project awards a quality seal to restaurants and fishmongers that offer fresh fish and seafood from Catalan fish markets. Peix de Llotja operates in the autonomous community and allows the origin of the product to be known through a traceability system and QR codes. It also highlights the value of local and seasonal species and helps consumers recognize participating establishments. The initiative seeks to strengthen local commercialization chains and promote that a greater part of the value generated remains in the fishing sector. It is part of a cooperation project between the five Catalan Local Action Groups for the Fishing Sector (GALP) and has the Associació Grup d’Acció Local Costa Daurada as its responsible entity. It has been selected in the first edition of Entornos, a call from the Sustainable Food axis of the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation.
