Socially engaged art
Artistic education project that articulates learning, creativity and cultural participation processes in schools and institutes in Girona from early childhood to adolescence. The initiative systematically integrates professional artists during school hours together with specialist teachers to design and execute art projects with primary and secondary school students. This approach combines work in the classroom with public presentations of the work carried out and the attendance of students at shows, to generate links between education, culture and the educational community. The impact is evaluated through the monitoring of pedagogical and social results with the aim of improving the school climate, promoting integration, facilitating intercultural dialogue and strengthening the learning capacities of girls and boys. Planters is supported by cultural mediation promoted by ConArte International, an association promoted by the UNESCO Chair in Cultural Policies and Cooperation of the University of Girona and with the presence of the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation among its institutional support.
