Opening of the Feeding the Future call for projects

Accessible food for all
Share on :

The Feed Forward call for projects is aimed at civil society and businesses to encourage innovations that accelerate the transition to sustainable food. You have until January 15, 2023 to present your project!

Supporting creative emerging solutions

We are convinced that sustainable food is necessarily democratic, solidarity-based and agro-ecological. This is why, as part of our 2019-2023 strategy, we are conducting various programmes, from seed to compost, from research to field projects.

The urgency of the transition encourages us to anticipate the challenges of tomorrow more, to support creativity and solutions that break with those we know. In addition to the actions developed and spread by the Foundation as part of its various programs, this “Feeding the Future” call invites those who dare to look at and build the world differently to apply, whether they work in civil society or in business. Since its launch, 44 projects have been supported, accompanied and networked.

We are looking for projects with a strong social and/or environmental impact on emerging issues, which create new knowledge, services or products for the benefit of as many people as possible. We will favour projects that aim to open up new avenues of solution to the problem addressed, which may be risky and/or break with the usual solutions. These innovations can be organizational, economic, technological, conceptual. They can draw inspiration from the history of forgotten practices or from creativity and new opportunities.

For our experimental project, where processes, tools and standards are being created with many partners, the support of the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation is invaluable, both to carry out the work and to promote it in the long term, within an ecosystem of actors dedicated to agricultural and food issues.

Accelerating the agricultural and food transition

This call for projects is aimed at 2 families of actors:

  • Structures eligible for sponsorship to obtain a subsidy;
  • Companies to obtain investment funds, ranging from equity investments to debt financing.

This call for projects is being conducted in partnership with Quadia as part of our “Sustainable Food Systems” (SFS) impact investment fund for young companies that contribute to the agroecological and food transition.

First, we will study your brief statement of intent. If your project is selected at this stage, we will ask you for an in-depth description and analysis, before the appraisal by a consultant or by Quadia. Finally, the financing decision will be based on a jury composed of experts.

Fully supported by the Foundation in addition to the funding granted, a support proposal can also be made to you to strengthen a particular point of your project (expertise, deployment capacity, internal structuring, etc.).

Specific support possible with Cartae

In order to strengthen the impact and transformation capacities of our partners, we are developing a committed and ambitious support under the name Cartae.

This extra-financial scheme (training, services, networking, studies, etc.) allows it to develop, scale up and consolidate its operation. It is flexible, co-constructed with the project leader and customized according to the needs identified.

This free offer is in addition to the subsidies awarded. It is therefore exclusively intended for the structures that we support within the framework of our programmes.

Since 2019, we have been calling on the Ecti association, which brings together 2000 retired volunteers, to advise and support economic and social actors in the success of their projects. In particular, they worked with 16 Nourish the Future laureates to carry out a variety of missions throughout France: agronomic technical support for small-scale Caribbean agriculture, creation of a SCIC, legal strategy in terms of leases, identification of local partners, methodology for an environmental impact study, economic modelling, etc.
