The mission of the Maison de la Musique Contemporaine (MMC) is to develop and promote contemporary music, provide support for professionals and educate the public. It works alongside all those involved in musical creation to support, promote and foster its influence.
Our support
Since 2022, the Fondation Daniel et Nina Carasso has supported the development of the Pôle Médiation of the Maison de la Musique Contemporaine, which implements initiatives, creates tools, trains professionals and raises awareness of mediation among players in the music industry. In addition, the Foundation has supported the Grand Prix Lycéen des Compositeurs, created in 2000, which aims to introduce today’s composers to high-school students taking music courses, while at the same time rewarding a composer for one of his or her works. Each year, six works are chosen by a selection committee and put to the vote of some 3,000 high school students, with the active participation of their music teachers and the composers concerned. At a national meeting, the winning composer receives a prize worth €4,500, along with a commission to be performed the following year.
