The Royaumont Foundation, France’s first charitable foundation with a cultural vocation, has been working alongside intellectuals and artists for 60 years. Today, music and dance are the Foundation’s two main areas of artistic activity.
The International Center for Music and Dance Artists
At its International Center for Music and Dance Artists, the Foundation gives priority to the transmission of knowledge, research and dialogue between artistic languages and practices. Backed by the presence of three libraries, it is at the cutting edge of repertoire interpretation informed by the study of sources and historical data. It is also at the forefront of musical and choreographic creation. Music and dance enrich their creative processes by rubbing shoulders with other disciplines. The visual arts, poetry and literature, and of course theater, are all called upon for artistic projects, but also in the way we look at our heritage.
Promoting encounters and dialogue between cultures and disciplines
The project supported by the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation aims to give new life and meaning to the Abbaye de Royaumont, through the permanent hosting of artists and intellectuals to encourage encounters and dialogue between cultures and disciplines. This support is intended to finance the professional training of young artists, the incubation of artists in the Scenic Unit, which offers young artists the opportunity to discover the experience of the stage at a professional level.
