Ecolhuma is an independent, non-political and non-denominational association of general interest. Formerly known as SynLab, the association was born in 2012 from a simple and powerful idea: teachers are the best chance of success for disadvantaged young people.
Student success through teacher support
A child from a disadvantaged background is 4 times less likely to be a good student. For this child, the teachers who accompany him/her will account for 30% of his/her academic success, and the head teacher for 10%. Faced with these facts, the Ecolhuma association has decided to support teachers and headteachers, to facilitate the success of France’s 12 million pupils, in particular through various online and face-to-face support systems. With a view to large-scale change, Ecolhuma uses digital leverage to bridge the gap between those working in the field and educational decision-makers.
In this context, the Daniel et Nina Carasso Foundation supports the creation of resources for teaching the visual arts in kindergartens, and helps schools implement cultural policies.
