Citizen Caravan

A project of cultural mediation in cinema that generates spaces for meeting, dialogue and audiovisual creation in rural regions of Extremadura such as Las Hurdes and Tierra de Barros-Sierra Grande. The initiative proposes processes of reflection-listening-action with local agents so that the population involved can explore their territorial reality from their own approaches and produce collective narratives about their environment. The process includes workshops, debates and practical activities related to the audiovisual, aimed at strengthening citizen participation, democratizing culture, conceiving the territory as a space for cultural production and making culture a field of shared thought. Caravana Ciudadana is developed in alliance with the Extremadura Foundation of Culture, Imago Bubo – Rural Colectivo and La Underground Colectiva and has the support of the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation within the Alliances for a Cultural Democracy 2022 call.
