Die cool. Collective learning to redesign death

Artistic and ecosocial research that explores new ways of thinking about and practicing the end of life from an ecological, cultural, and community perspective. The initiative responds to a call from the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation within the framework of Composing Knowledge to Imagine and Build Sustainable Futures, a call that finances proposals that articulate art, science and citizenship to address eco-social challenges. The project, developed by the artistic mediation, creation and research collective DU-DA and the biologist Jordi Miralles, examines conventional funeral protocols and their environmental impact, and investigates alternatives based on experimentation, pedagogy and respect for natural cycles. This process includes public laboratories, educational experiences, prototypes of eco-funerals and audiovisual archives designed to expand cultural imaginaries about dying and reinforce a more sovereign and ecological relationship with the environment.
