Socially engaged art
The project brought contemporary art to Guadalaviar, in the Sierra de Albarracín, to open spaces for the encounter between creation, landscape and daily life in a rural municipality marked by depopulation. Naturalizarte promoted interventions in public space, research work on local memory and a final festival open to the neighborhood. Promoted by the City Council of Guadalaviar with the support of the Citizen Art axis of the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation, the Government of Aragon and the Sierra de Albarracín Region, the program articulated four grants of 3,000 euros for artists. Among its results are the mural La Pandilla Baturra y el secreto de los maquis (in the image), the Cartography of Daily Life of a small mountain town and the Territorio-Arte festival.
