A Career in Art and Education
The Cross Border Project is defined as a cultural and social innovation initiative born in New York as a personal project of Lucía Miranda. Its structure integrates a theater company, a school of applied theater and a space for research and development with other groups and disciplines.
This framework helps to situate their educational work within a broader trajectory, in which theatre is used as a tool for training, mediation and work with communities. Thus, Bichos Raros works as an online school and brings together free tutorials aimed at teachers, educators, social workers and artist-educators. The platform offers 16 resources in Spanish and French to address issues such as cultural diversity, gender equality, sexual diversity and emotional intelligence in the classroom. Fábrica de Harinas acts as a summer school and La Panadería, as an art and education laboratory.

The relationship with the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation is not limited to the initial support to Bichos Raros, Fábrica de Harinas and La Panadería. In 2020, The Cross Border Project was part of the Emergency Fund articulated by the Foundation in the face of the COVID-19 crisis to meetthe most pressing needs derived from the total loss of income due to the cancellation of activities.
From project support to Tiina
The subsequent connection was expanded in the area of impact investing. The Cross Border Project was one of the entities selected for the acceleration phase of the second edition of Tiina, the program promoted by the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation in collaboration with Ship2B to accompany and finance citizen art and sustainable food initiatives with the potential for impact and economic viability.
