Governance
Our organization
The bi-national dimension of the Foundation pays tribute to the Franco-Spanish origin of the Carasso family. It guides the way we act and work on a daily basis. We work with common objectives in France and Spain, for a societal transformation through sustainable food and citizen art, while being attentive to local contexts. Constant exchange between teams nurtures mutual learning and opens up a constructive dialogue between cultures. Our plural governance is made up of different Councils and Committees which are led by members of the Carasso family and/or by qualified personalities.

Our plural governance
Half of the Board of Directors is made up of members of the founding family and half of qualified personalities from the worlds of business, the general interest and the public service. It meets 4 times a year and delegates part of its powers to the Delegated Commission, composed of 3 of its members, to monitor the implementation of the decisions of the Board of Directors and to ensure the proper management of the Foundation. This model allocates responsibilities, strengthens control mechanisms and ensures that decisions are taken according to criteria of general interest and as close as possible to the needs of the projects.
Specialized expertise
The Board of Directors has surrounded itself with committees bringing together qualified personalities from the world of research, foresight, business, the public sector or civil society, from the fields of agriculture, food, culture, art, education, the social and health field and investment. Exercising their function in a personal capacity, these experts support the Foundation’s governance on the financial and strategic aspects.
Among them, the Strategic Committee supports the Board of Directors in the preparation of decisions. It ensures that the impact strategies by axis and by country are put in place, and prepares their evolution. With the help of the 3 Directors General and the Secretary General, this committee ensures the coherence of the Foundation’s actions, their convergence towards the set directions, and their legibility by the Board of Directors.
The diversity of expertise thus brings rigor and a relevant risk assessment.
