Eating that respects people and ecosystems
Transforming food systems, from the land to the table, to build a fairer and more livable future
We are accelerating the transition to just and sustainable food systems, guaranteeing healthy food for all, respectful of people and ecosystems, and creating strong links between production, citizenship and territories. Our work is based on this conviction: food systems are an essential lever to respond to the ecological, economic and social challenges of our time. Our actions therefore cover the entire value chain, from field to fork, by mobilizing both the actors already committed and those in the conventional system, in order to accelerate the transition to a fairer, healthier and more inclusive model.
We support the transformation of agricultural systems towards practices that regenerate ecosystems and value people. Our priorities in France are:
- Supporting the installation of new farmers in agroecology and promoting generational renewal.
- Accelerate the agroecological transition on farms, by supporting changes in practices, innovation and knowledge sharing.
- Promote sustainable fishing and encourage responsible consumption of seafood.
We support territories and economic actors in the construction of territorialized, resilient and sustainable food systems. Our priorities in France are:
- Support the dynamics that link production, processing and consumption at the local level.
- Strengthen the capacity of territorial decision-makers to integrate the agroecological and food transition into their local policies.
- Supporting the transformation of economic actors to engage the agricultural and food sectors towards sustainable and equitable models.
We support the transformation of food environments, with the aim of guaranteeing the right to food for all people. Our priorities in France are:
- Promote food justice, in order to guarantee the most precarious people the right to eat well.
- Encourage restaurateurs and commercial catering players to adopt sustainable practices and offers.
- Supporting food democracy initiatives so that citizens and territories can reclaim their food.
We encourage the emergence and dissemination of new frameworks and representations that make sustainable food and agroecology both possible and desirable. Our priorities in France are:
- To increase the visibility and dissemination of scientific expertise, successful practices and imaginaries around sustainable food.
- Develop networks and collaborations between researchers, policymakers and field actors to create more sustainable and resilient food systems.
- Promote the sharing of knowledge and inspiring initiatives to transform representations and encourage citizen engagement.
Impactful projects
Transformative Sustainable Food projects that care for people and planet.
In France and Spain, we recognize that sustainable agriculture and food are necessarily democratic, supportive and agroecological. Every product we grow, share or prepare, reflects our relationship with nature and the people around us. If this relationship is broken, it is our health, social cohesion and the balance of ecosystems that are degraded. If it is strengthened, we open up new paths towards a more just, conscious and humane society.
