Daniel Carasso Fellows, the heart of the SABE

CommunityMaking a real and lasting impact on the transition to sustainable food requires the participation of all actors in the food system. For this reason, one of the fundamental objectives of the Daniel Carasso Fellowship is to promote research with systemic and multidisciplinary approaches that connect traditionally unrelated areas and disciplines.

This strategy has recently materialized with the creation of the SABE Community (Evidence-Based Food Sustainability), a multidisciplinary network that integrates the beneficiaries of the Daniel Carasso Fellowship and promotes collaboration and synergies between various groups.

The SABE Community promotes the food transition through scientific development and social impact, weaving collaborations between fellows. In addition, this community encourages dialogue with the different sectors, territories and actors in the value chain, to create synergies with research and work together in the search for sustainable solutions that allow a systemic transformation of the food model. It arises from the need to connect these young researchers with livestock farmers, fishermen and farmers, with entrepreneurs and cooperatives, with distributors and consumers. In short, it arises from the need to create an extensive and inclusive community, which invites everyone to be part of the transformation of the food system in Spain.
