Regional context and agrarian challenges
La Conca de Barberà is a Catalan region with a strong agricultural and winemaking tradition within the Conca de Barberà Designation of Origin. The agricultural sector in this area faces structural challenges such as the aging of the active population, difficulties in accessing land and barriers to entry for new producers. This context conditions the opportunities for generational renewal and the sustainability of local production models.
Methodology and value proposition
The project is based on the methodology of agricultural test spaces, which combines technical accompaniment, training and business support to allow entrepreneurs to test agricultural activities in real conditions. This combination reduces the risks associated with entering the sector and facilitates early assessments of technical and economic feasibility. The approach includes local resources, professional training and strategic guidance to strengthen productive capacities with an environmental and economic perspective.
Strategic objectives and local implementation
The support of the Foundation and the RETA seeks to promote practical experiences that can lead to resilient and competitive agricultural enterprises in rural areas. In the Conca de Barberà, the implementation of the project contemplates the articulation of agents and resources of the territory to create an environment that facilitates the transition towards sustainable production practices. The actions planned in Belltall and Senan are part of this general framework of capacity building and local development.
