Soria del Cid Association

In the western region of the province of Soria, Tierras Sorianas del Cid has begun a process to advance in the agroecological transition of extensive agriculture and viticulture with a view to territorial sustainability. The Local Action Group was selected to participate in the first edition of the Terralimenta programme, an initiative promoted by the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation together with Red2Red that seeks to accompany LEADER Groups in the construction of Territorialised Agri-Food Systems (SAT) through training and technical advice for two years. Inclusion in Terralimenta offers Tierras del Cid tools to identify key agents in its territory, strengthen links between primary production, agri-food transformation and markets, as well as design a strategic roadmap towards more sustainable practices. At the same time, the Association continues to promote its own activities to support the agricultural sector of the region, integrating the work of the large fruit and vegetable companies established in the area and seeking solutions that link productive sustainability with territorial cohesion.
