Sustainable food

Jakigune

Jakigune is presented as a hub for agri-food entrepreneurship with a defined purpose: to consolidate a shared space for the transformation, distribution and sale of local and organic products. The project responds to the needs identified by agents in the territory based on a participatory diagnosis, with a particular emphasis on strengthening links with school canteens and promoting sustainable food. The initiative, selected in the fourth call of Del Campo a la Despensa of the Carasso Foundation, unites the association of local producers Baserritik Urdaibaira, the Urremendi Rural Development Association, the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve and other agricultural, educational and social entities. With the technical assistance of the agrosocial consultancy Amaterra, Jakigune has begun a first phase of 18 months to adapt the physical space, launch the activities and lay the foundations for its consolidation as a platform for territorial entrepreneurship.
