Call for applications In Situ Artist Residencies
We are launching the 2nd edition of “In Situ”, a multidisciplinary residency program that aims to be both a time and a space for meetings, research, individual and collective work in the heart of the Cité internationale des arts, but also a workshop for the production of knowledge and works. You have until May 26 inclusive to send your application!
Collectively exploring the ecological transition
For 6 months, In situ brings together within the Cité internationale des arts in Paris, 10 artists with an artistic practice that is in the field of visual arts, performance, design, music and sound research, writing, live performance, architecture-urbanism and exhibition curation. A collective and individual dynamic brings them together in the service of a line of work proposed by a guest researcher, around the relationships between the general context, the reality of the world and the possible modes of action.
«
The In situ residency programme is designed as an inclusive space, open to debate, the exchange of ideas and other forms of knowledge transmission, at the centre of which the question of ecological transition arises.
»María Inés Rodríguez, guest of In Situ
María Inés Rodríguez, Director of Tropical Papers, will be the guest of this 2024-2025 edition: “Our meetings will be guided by the visionary thinking of the Franco-Hungarian architect Yona Friedman who invites us to see the world beyond statistical methods, to recognize the creative potential and to consider new approaches in our artistic creation process. Through a series of monthly workshops and lectures with guests and exhibition visits, we will, on the one hand, continue discussions on the geopolitical, historical and current tensions, at the root of the ecological and climate crisis and playing a role in the transition to a circular and climate-neutral society. On the other hand, we will delve deeper into the different working methods and processes underlying this reflection.”
«
We are proud to announce the renewal of our commitment to the second edition of the In Situ residency program, in collaboration with curator María Inés Rodríguez. Recognizing the critical importance of diversity and artistic excellence, our support aims to catalyze the emergence of innovative visions and transdisciplinary projects. With funding secured and a framework conducive to innovation, we look forward to contributing to a future where art and creativity play a central role in addressing the major issues of our time.
