Call for applications: Cité internationale des Arts artists’ residency
After a first artist residency program launched in 2020 in the midst of the health crisis, we are continuing our partnership with the Cité internationale des arts, to provide sustainable support to the art scene. A new residency and support program is being set up for 10 artists, of all nationalities, in Visual Arts, Cinema, Writing, Music and Performing Arts. Submit your application until May 13, 2021!
Supporting artists
Artists now more than ever need professional and material support in order to be able to continue creating. The cancellations and postponements of events or projects persist and, one year after the beginning of the crisis, affect creators of all disciplines even more acutely. Many of them, who are very vulnerable, are now forced to turn away from their practice.
Committed to a fairer, more inclusive and fulfilling world, our foundation, through its Citizen Art axis, contributes to the emergence of free spirits who question, venture, cross paths and bring ideas to life, by facilitating the success of their projects.
To support an artistic sector particularly affected by the consequences of the health crisis, we set up a Recovery and Solidarity Fund in 2020 for our partners, but also to support artists whose activity is among the most impacted. With the Cité internationale des arts, we created a unique residency program that allowed 10 artists to benefit from a living and working space, financial support and a conducive artistic environment, allowing them to catch their breath.
«
In 2020, following the pandemic, as for many artists, my projects were cut short in their tracks. With the support of the Cité Internationale des Arts program and the Nina and Daniel Carasso Foundation, I had time to catch my breath, find my way back to the collaborations that are dear to me and initiate new ones. This is how I can once again envisage a future for my practice.

A complete program
We share with the Cité internationale des arts the desire to be part of a sustainable support for the art scene and have decided to continue and strengthen this program for the year 2021. This second edition offers a balance between personal time, allowing the realization of a project or research, and collective emulation thanks to the anchoring in the heart of the community of 325 residents of all disciplines, all generations and all nationalities.
The program includes:
• The provision of a free housing workshop on the Marais site of the Cité internationale des arts from September 2021 to the end of February 2022;
• A living grant of 850 euros per month;
• Production aid of €1,000;
• Artistic and professional support.
Open to artists of all nationalities living in France, it concerns disciplines in the following fields: Visual Arts, Cinema, Writing, Music and Performing Arts.
In addition to evaluating the candidate’s professional background, the members of the jury will pay particular attention to the impact of the Covid 19 crisis on the professional and material situation in which the artist finds himself today.
