Context and purpose
The project responds to a complex demographic and productive reality. The Vall del Corb faces the outflow of population, agricultural ageing and difficulties in accessing land and productive management by people without family ties in the sector. The San Martí Test Space proposes a test environment in which young people can develop an agricultural project with technical and training support, evaluate its viability and consolidate learning before taking definitive steps towards full productive autonomy.
The project is also part of the Network of Agricultural Test Spaces (RETA), a structure of accompaniment, advice and training for similar initiatives in Spain. RETA’s strategic objective is to facilitate the progressive incorporation of entrepreneurs into the agricultural sector under criteria of sustainability, productive diversification and territorial dynamization.
Productive activities
The Agricultural Test Space combines two main productive orientations. On the one hand, the person responsible will manage a flock of dairy sheep, leading the production and marketing of the milk. On the other hand, the sustainable management of the agricultural and forest environment associated with the exploitation is incorporated, with practices that include pasture management, landscape preservation and adaptation to climate change. This dual dimension seeks to offer practical experience in agriculture, livestock and environmental management.
Accompaniment and test conditions
Those who access the San Martí Test Space receive technical advice, specialized training and business support to develop their project in real conditions. This assistance includes agronomic support, guidance on commercial aspects and continuous professional monitoring. The design of the space allows the person to assess the technical, economic and social viability of their initiative before definitively assuming the independent management of a farm.
