We know the finalist projects in the Demo Day of the third edition of Tiina
The Tiina program concluded its third edition on March 27, in a meeting in which the five finalists who will access the impact investment loans of our Foundation were announced. With the Ship2B Foundation as a strategic collaborator, we accompany these inspiring projects that, through food and citizen art, seek transformation towards a fairer, more inclusive and sustainable world.
The six entities that have been part of the second phase of the third edition of the Tiina program presented their proposals, objectives and expectations for five years at the Demo Day event. At this meeting, those who will access the impact investment fund consisting of soft loans from an investment fund worth 220,000 euros were also announced: Mum’s with 60,000 euros, Del Pueblo and Meloom with 50,000 per project, Kultursistema with 35,000 euros, and B-Murals with 25,000 euros. In addition to them, the following has also participated in the last phase of accompaniment of the program: Novessendes Foundation.
At the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation, we are committed to aligning our mission with our investments. From the Tiina program, we promote projects that solve collective problems through their actions in Citizen Art or Sustainable Food. Accompanying them during these three years has also been a learning experience for our Foundation, which has improved the program with great news for the next call

In the third edition , 80 applications were submitted, of which 14 were selected to be part of the first phase, in which a diagnosis was made and their proposals were improved. Of all of them, only six went on to a second phase in which, for half a year, they carried out an intensive acceleration program in which they worked around their business models, supporting and guiding the initiatives towards the objectives set.
“With each edition, a community of initiatives that try to improve their environment through seeking solutions with a systemic approach is expanded,” confirms Guillermo Ricarte, CEO of the Ship2B Foundation. This network of collaborators that is woven between the participating projects is one of the most positive and inspiring objectives, since the future is generated in community.
Five selected projects
The projects selected in the second phase of Tiina were the protagonists of the Demo Day, presenting their teams and their initiatives on stage. The five selected projects, together with the finalist entity Fundació Novessendes, presented their growth plans, delving into the essence of their innovative proposals, revealing their value in transforming the future.
The Meloom round of presentations has begun , which aims to promote the benefits of playing an instrument on well-being and mental and emotional health. “Playing an instrument is something like active meditation. You have to put your soul and body into it. We want to bring out the intrinsic musicality that our users have inside,” explained Víctor Velasco, CEO of Meloom.
B-Murals, with the representation of Xavi Ballaz, project manager, continued the exhibitions. This initiative promotes social inclusion through art, “with this urban art hub we intend to facilitate, on the one hand, the approach of citizens to culture in general, and on the other hand the access of artists to ways and channels of professionalization”.
The third project to be presented was Kultursistema, this platform solves a problem that prevents awareness of the cultural fabric. “We don’t know the agents, we don’t know what they do, how they do it or what impact they generate. At Kultursistema we identify the data, extract it and make it freely available,” explains Edurne Ruiz de Arcaute, manager of Conexiones Improbables, the entity that has generated the project.
The turn was followed by the Novessendes Foundation, finalist of the edition, an initiative that produces and markets quality, organic and certified vegetables, also putting on the table the problem of generational renewal in the agricultural structures of Castellón. “Generational change is practically non-existent, we are losing more than land, we are losing our identity and our food sovereignty, this is not only a problem of the countryside, it is a problem of everyone,” confirms Esther Paulo, director of the Foundation.
“We offer meals with healthy, zero-kilometer, ecological and, of course, delicious alternatives,” confirmed Alejandra Pérez and Felipe Mijares. This is how he began the presentation of his Mum’s initiative, an enterprise that offers catering with quality products for companies to offer their workers, from the conviction that “good health begins at the table”.
Finally, José Alfredo Martín, director of apadrinaunolivo.org, presented the DelPueblo project. “We have realized that in the villages there is a lot of abandoned orchards and we want to regenerate these crops,” he explained in relation to his experience with the first initiative. In this sense, they offer the consumer the possibility of choosing a product before it is planted, following the process from start to finish and receiving the result transformed into canned food in their own home.
“The third edition of Tiina has allowed us to take stock of these years and improve the program in the next calls. Projects will have greater support, will receive more funding depending on their needs and will be able to be part of a community of supported initiatives that already form a large community
Pilar Martínez, Head of Sustainable Food Programmes in Spain
The experience of three years and the road to the fourth edition
During these three years, the commitment to social transformation has been consolidated by investing 600,000 euros in 13 projects that catalyse social innovation in the search for sustainable and fair futures. The Sustainable Food projects financed have been Ecocentral, Fundación Mescladís, Mallart, DelPueblo and Mum’s. In the field of citizen art, there are Aulafilm, Aptent, Colectiva, Cross Border, ConArte Internacional, B-Murals, Kultursistema and Meloom.
The fourth edition of the Tiina program has several novelties. Two annual calls will be held, one that will be open until May 18, and another that will go out during the month of October. Between 8 and 10 projects will be financed with a fund of 500,000 euros divided into loans of 50,000 to 100,000 euros. In addition, the dynamic has changed on this occasion, since the accompaniment will be carried out after the investment. In other words, those selected will carry out the diagnosis and intensive training phase, receive the loan and accompany those selected to maximise their social impact.
